The Centre is closed for the winter to prepare for the 2017 season but is open by appointment. The regular hours will return May 20th, 10 to 4 daily.
The feature display in 2017, “Made in Owen Sound”, will celebrate the industrial history of Owen Sound.
The feature display in 2016 was “The Art of the Sailor”.
The feature display in 2015 was “30 People 30 Pieces”. It celebrated the 30 years of community involvement in supporting the marine and rail museum on the Owen Sound waterfront. We had over 6,000 visitors. Thank you to all who visited.

From spring to Thanksgiving, the Heritage Centre is open 7 days a week. Admission is by donation. Please sign the guest book.
Welcome to the former CN Rail Station. The entrance to the museum is through the Owen Sound Tourism Office. The building is air-conditioned.
The museum is wheelchair accessible but the caboose and CN Dining Car are not.
Be sure to have a look around the Museum Store.
Location and Directions
1155 1st Avenue West, Owen Sound
We are located on the waterfront on the west side of the harbour, two blocks north of 10th Street West.
If you are coming from the East on 10th Street turn right on to 1st Avenue West immediately after crossing the bridge.
If you are coming from the West on 10th Street West turn left at 1st Avenue West.
There is free parking beside the harbour walkway in the parking lot.
